Workshops Modules
Menopause is a significant life transition that often brings physical, emotional, and mental changes. This module introduces the power of mindfulness in reducing stress and offering support through the changes of menopause with greater ease and compassion.
Mindfulness can help you stay calm and reduce the intensity of hot flushes by focusing on your breath and staying present. Techniques like mindful breathing and meditation support anxiety and mood management, creating a sense of balance. Practicing mindfulness before bed can also improve sleep, which is often disrupted during menopause. By encouraging a gentle, non-judgmental approach, mindfulness fosters acceptance and understanding of the changes you’re experiencing.
Recognising menopause as a natural life stage that can significantly impact mental wellbeing, particularly in the workplace, this session explores its varied effects and how we can support one another professionally. It raises awareness of the psychological challenges of balancing work and personal responsibilities while offering strategies to create a supportive and understanding work environment.
Hormonal changes during menopause can lead to mood swings, frustration, irritability, and sudden emotional responses, making awareness essential for reducing workplace misunderstandings. Menopause may also trigger or worsen anxiety and depression, impacting concentration and increasing absenteeism. Memory and focus difficulties are common but often temporary, while poor sleep can lead to fatigue and lower productivity. Understanding these challenges and offering the right support, including workload adjustments, can create a more inclusive and supportive work environment.
Menopause brings challenges but also an opportunity to prioritise health and wellbeing. This module explores the key health considerations during menopause and effective ways to manage them. Covering the three phases—perimenopause (the transition), menopause (the end of menstruation), and postmenopause (the years that follow) we’ll highlight common symptoms and the importance of understanding them.
We’ll discuss how hormonal decline affects the body, leading to symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats, and metabolic changes, as well as its impact on bone density, heart health, and weight management. The module also covers options for managing symptoms, including HRT and non-hormonal alternatives, along with practical tips for maintaining a healthy weight through diet and exercise.
Menopause is a significant life transition that affects many aspects of health, including how the body responds to food. This module explores the role of nutrition in supporting wellbeing during menopause, offering practical guidance on how to nourish your body through dietary choices.
As oestrogen levels fluctuate, metabolism slows, making weight management more challenging- something to understand and adapt to. We’ll highlight key nutrients like calcium, vitamin D, and magnesium, which become especially important during this time, and provide simple, effective strategies to support energy levels, overall health, and wellbeing.
